it's here .... Anthony DeLuca's SHOP SHOP ... official spiel and blurbage and such soon!

Anthony, a long-lost friend and former Cranbrook student (cranbroid / cranbot) recently gave me a call to commission a sound track for his new hybrid public space / store / gallery / shop in South Harlem at 100th and Lexington Avenue in NYC. The sound piece is to play continuously for SIX MONTHS and began Dec 1st, as the brick above suggests. I invited Sean Meadows to join me in the design and creation of a series of 'microcompositions' to shuffle play continuously from a series of horns (above) and a few low-end speakers as well.

Additionally, there is an alternate endlessly looping soundtrack for the store too - which Anthony has reportedly played at each day's end (at high volume no less) - a 100 second looping drone (vexing / calming combo made with bits from a performance with a Stella guitar) broadcast at 100 FM within a 100 foot radius of the corner of Lexington and E 100th in Manhattan. The loop was especially designed to complement the playback system (4 horns (advertised as 'great for clarity of message' in prison yards no less!) mounted high in front of a razor-wire-topped room divider adjacent to the 6 foot tall couch (with built-in refrigerator), pile of stuffed pelts, and bear-rug-ottoman (among other evil treasures) and simultaneously acknowledge or comment on the curious nature of commerce and retail environments in general, as well as provide a kind of service to the folks in the river of traffic down Lexington Ave.

GO BY AND TUNE IN!

CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT TO DO? TUNE IN AND FOCUS UP!
